As you might have noticed, the double denim trend is taking over this season. Denim jackets, denim blouses, denim pants (=jeans), denim skirts, denim dresses, denim shorts, you name it. Everything can be combined with each other and everything goes. One piece of denim is simply not enough. Since I’m a huge fan of this trend, today’s outfit is all about the double denim.
You must know that finding a particular garment can become quite an obsession for me. For example, my search for the original Levi’s 501 jeans. Man, I’ve wanted these jeans so badly. I’ve chased all kinds of vintage stores up, both physical and virtual, in the hope of taking possession of this gem.
I didn’t achieve much success. Luckily, a while ago, I discovered the site Vestiaire Collective. The world opened up in front of me. If you already know this site, you know what I’m talking about: the best second-hand designer pieces and the best vintage pieces are offered for a song (well, in relative terms). Seriously, it’s like heaven.
Because there it was, the jeans of dreams, waiting patiently for my visit. I purchased it immediately, received it shortly after, adjusted it a little and I’ve worn it ever since.
So, for this look, I’ve combined my Levi’s 501 with a denim jacket and a striped blouse. The jeans and jacket are exactly the some color, which gives the outfit a cool 90s vibe. I finished the look with my white platform slip-ons, so that the focus is on the denim (and so that I’m a few inches taller ;)).
Hope you like it!
